Village Recreation Area

The Smugglers’ Notch Resort Village Recreation Area is a delightful playground for families of all ages, offering a fresh twist on beloved backyard classics. From basketball and bocce to Gaga Ball and horseshoes, there’s an outdoor game for everyone, ensuring you soak up the sunshine and maybe even get a workout. Equipment is provided free of charge, available from 9:00 am until dusk on a first-come, first-serve basis, right next to the main parking lot, making it easy for everyone to join in the fun.

Night moves

Mother Nature has been kind to us the last few days - She’s gifted us with the temperatures necessary to get our guns cranking as well as several inches of natural snow.

Opening Day is coming soon - We’ll let you know exactly when as soon as we can.

As the late, great Mark Twain once said, “If you don’t like the weather in New England, just wait a few minutes.”

Unfortunately we don’t have the technology to change the weather yet, so we’ve been doing what Mark has suggested: waiting for weather we do like - namely temps below freezing. Thankfully we DO have the technology to make snow and every time we get those temps we’ve been making as much of it as we can.

Our hope was to have enough snow to get you riding Sterling this Friday, but unfortunately it looks like we’re gonna have to wait a little longer.

The good news: We’ve got colder, seasonable temps rolling in which will allow us make the snow we need, so the wait for opening day won’t be long. Keep an eye on our snow report for the latest updates.

The kids are getting ready for winter - Are you?

This Fall a few of our Snow Sport University staff traveled to local elementary schools to introduce students to the sport of snowboarding through the @burton Riglet PE Program.

Kids put their balance to the test, practiced their grabs, and learned what goes into having a fun, safe, successful day on the mountain!
