Mountains of adventure and mountains of fun

Today was an amazing spring day on the slopes. Upper FIS was groomed full-width last night, and it was fantastic today! A nice, long, smooth, steep pitch covered in corn snow does not disappoint. Everything was skiing and riding great, but Upper FIS was my favorite today. We have one more day of mild temperatures before the snow starts to fly again. There is a winter storm watch starting on Wednesday and going through Thursday night with a foot or more of new snow! Tomorrow, we plan to have 3 lifts operating: Sterling Lift, Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift, and Sir Henry’s Glider. Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift will open at 9 am. The Madonna I Lift will be closed tomorrow, and we plan to reopen it on Wednesday for the rest of the week. We will have 26 trails open tomorrow with terrain for all ability levels. 22 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Snow Snake, Sam’s Run, Smugglers’ Alley, and Thomke’s Express, for a total of 80 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are machine groomed and spring conditions with average base depths of 6 to 32 inches. It is sunny and 38 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 0 to 5 mph. Tomorrow’s forecast is partly sunny skies early with increasing clouds throughout the day, with a high of 50 degrees at the base and 43 degrees at higher elevations. See the photo below for Solar Eclipse lift information.
