A little new snow and reindeer games

3 Mountain Logo

Today was a bunch of fun! I started with snowboarding on Morse Mountain. I enjoyed carving up the nice corduroy on Garden Path, Sam’s Run, and Lower Morse Liftline. I then grabbed my ski gear and headed for Sterling. The surface conditions were nice and soft. Ski Patrol opened Exhibition, Thomke’s, and Lower Bootlegger. Today, we also opened Black Snake, Snake Bite, and the Practice Slope. This afternoon, I went and saw the reindeer that were visiting Smuggs. Their antlers are the coolest!

Tomorrow, we plan to have Village Lift, Sterling Lift, Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift, and Sir Henry’s Glider operating. We now have 17 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. 13 out of the 17 trails will be groomed for tomorrow, including Smugglers’ Alley and Magic Learning Trail, for a total of 54 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are machine-groomed and variable, with average base depths of 8 to 36 inches. Currently, it is cloudy and 30 degrees at the summit of Sterling with winds of 5 to 10 mph. Tomorrow’s forecast calls for cloudy skies with a high of 41 degrees at the base and 36 degrees at higher elevations.
