New snow and grooming

3 Mountain Logo
Lower Morse Liftline

The Madonna II Lift will have a delayed opening until 9:30 am for grooming. We received 4 inches of new snow on top and 2 inches of fresh snow at the base overnight. The new snow is wet and heavy which is great! This snow is perfect for base building and covering obstacles. Today’s forecast is calling for light rain early turning to snow by 10 am with 1 to 3 inches of accumulation possible. Temperatures will be falling throughout the day. The snow we receive today should bond nicely with the wet snow that we received last night. The snow we receive today will dry out as the temperatures fall throughout the day. Groomed trails are recommended this morning due to the heavy snow. Today we plan to have skiing and riding on all 3 mountains with terrain for all ability levels. We will have the Sterling Lift, Village Lift, Morse Highlands Lift, Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift, Madonna II Lift, and Sir Henry’s Glider all operating today. We have 19 trails open. All open trails on Morse Mountain have been groomed for today. Upper Rumrunner, Crossover, Treasure Run, Lower Exhibition, Lower Chilcoot, and Mulcahy’s Link will also be groomed. Surface conditions are wet snow and variable with average base depths of 6 to 24 inches. Surface conditions will change throughout the day as temperatures fall. Currently, it is 32 degrees at the summit of Sterling with light rain and winds of 0 to 5 mph. The high temperature for today is 34 degrees falling to 26 degrees at the base and 21 degrees at the summit of Sterling. Saturday’s forecast is cloudy skies with a chance of snow showers early and another inch of accumulation possible with a high of 20 degrees. Sunday’s forecast is sunny skies with a high of 25 degrees. Monday’s forecast is mostly sunny skies with a high of 25 degrees. It’s going to be a beautiful Martin Luther King Jr. weekend!

This weekend the featured beer for the apres sports parties at Bootlegger’s and the Black Bear Tavern is Fiddlehead.

Uphill travel is open on Morse Mountain from 5 pm to 10 pm Friday through Wednesday. Morse Mountain is closed Thursday evenings due to fireworks and Cat Trax Tours.

Madonna and Sterling are presently closed to uphill travel until we have more trails open. Stay tuned for updates.
