A little new snow to freshen things up

We received 2 to 3 inches of new snow on top overnight. We have 3 interconnected mountains with 5 lifts turning today. We have the Madonna II Lift, Village Lift, Sterling Lift, Mogul Mouse’s Magic Lift, and Sir Henry’s Glider all operating. We have 18 trails open with terrain for all ability levels. All 18 trails have been groomed for today, that’s a grand total of 82 acres of freshly groomed terrain. Surface conditions are machine-groomed and variable with average base depths of 6 to 24 inches. My trail pick of the day is Smugglers’ Alley. The new snow on top of the groomed steep pitch was very nice this morning. Currently, it is 18 degrees at the summit of Sterling with flurries and winds of 5 to 10 mph. Today’s forecast is calling for cloudy skies with a chance of snow showers with less than an inch of accumulation possible. A high of 27 degrees at the base and 20 degrees at the summit of Sterling. Temperatures will be falling throughout the day. We plan to resume snowmaking later today.

Uphill travel is presently closed on all 3 mountains due to snowmaking and grooming operations.

This weekend’s featured beer for the apres sports parties at Bootlegger’s and the Black Bear Tavern is 14th Star.
